I graded tonight! I have now 2 kyu! | #aikido

After many years, I have now graded to 2 kyu in Aikido (Takemusu Aiki, Iwama Ryu). Last time I graded was in May 2010, so it was about time! So many other things has happened in my life, coming in between me and my aikido development. But, tonighg was the night! “You can be happy and proud!”, the grading committée chairman Leif Kinnersjö, chief instructor emeritus, 6 dan, said. And so I am! Behind me in the photo, I feel Morihei Ueshiba, a k a O’Sensei and Aikido founder, smiling. Thank you for giving me this way of life and…

10. J as in Japan! | #Wishlist2017

36 images of Mount Fuji in different contexts and from different views, from the artist Hokusai – where you most certainly recognize the one on the top left. The Great Wave of Kanagawa. One of the most spread artworks, yes – pop art in its true sense. But, I want to see Mount Fuji. Live! Japan, certainly, is on my Bucket List! A deep wish to go there! And yes, it’s not a secret – my passion for Aikido, the japanese Budo form. An integrated part of my life, where Aikido, metaphorically, is a core sense and expression of my…

A Sense of Belonging – The Aikido Community | #CommunityWednesday #Aikido

Tonight I was, as usual on Wednesdays, at the Dojo and trained. Now, approaching bed, I check my Insta flow. I stumbled upon this! You find Aikido there, at right! Oh, this is nerdery. But what to expect? Yes, exactly! I am Aikido! We are spread over the world, and that is a strong feeling. In a sense, it becomes a universal language, similar to music. An understanding beyond words, a connection. And coming with the Radical Inclusiveness I experience with Aikido culture, I can really subscribe to the sentiment – “Aikido – the Art of Peace”! — (Source: linked…

Succession in our Aikido club | #Aikido

After many years of serving as a chairman of our Aikido and Judo club IF Dojo Norrköping, Leif Kinnersjö (6 Dan Aikido, practising Aikido since the seventies), decided to step down and hand over the leadership. And that is to Kimmo Osen, 4 Dan. Good luck, Kimmo! You’re a great spirit. And thank you, Leif! I know you will get back this Fall (Leif was injured when he was working with some stuff, and had an operation, now in rehab), just to train with us. It has been a sheer pleasure to take part of your vast knowledge and experience of…

Equal Opportunities | #CommunityWednesday #WomensDay

Today we take notice of all the women of the world. International Women’s Day. We still have a long way to go to get a society where Equal Opportunities exist, and where universal human rights are respected in practice. My contribution is to foster my kids, so they can carry the message and live the spirit – a work I do together with my beloved woman, Karin. Another sphere of influence is through my Aikido. In our club, right now, we have two active women. One more senior, who have been practicing Aikido since she was a little kid. And…

Mission | 31meditationer

Aikido. Meditation in Movement. Transcended as my Philosophy Of Life ages and eons ago. Here, and now, we are.  2017. The Year has started. For real. Kick Off, Play On! When balance challenged, getting grounded. When harmony distorted, getting back. When world and mind spins, snapping back. Hai!

№ 2 – The Core | #blogg24

Second of 24 postings, counting down to Christmas. The core. The things that defines you. The most important. I feel the core of me will provide itself as themes for some postings ahead, in this little blog challenge of #blogg24. Family.  My everything. I love you. Karin. Mika. Nadine. Soto. Uchi. Deshi. Aikido. An integrated life philosophy, not just a “martial art”. Ai – harmony. Ki – life energy. Do – the way. Practice, and you will learn. Be in the flow of AiKi, and you will find the way to it. Do. With the practice, I keep centered and…

Aikido Camp – Ulf Evenås – In Civilian Visit Mode | #blog366 #Aikido

Just a pic from Shihan Ulf Evenås, 7 dan Aikido (Iwama Ryu / Takemusu / Saito Learnings), who gave his annual camp at our dojo. I had no space to participate this year, but managed to get a great deal of photos! Will share them in another context/place, methinks. And yes, just saying – I got my MD to confirm that my aikido is essential to keep, maintain and develop my health, especially now in rehab mode, with baby steps towards a very gentle work trial, harmonizing with No. 1 priority – my family! With that said – joining them…
