Now we have a diagnosis. Mika has aplastic anemia. It’s a serious blood disease, where his bone marrow doesn’t produce blood cells. No red, no white, no trombocytes. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aplastic_anemia Next week they will start with ATG treatment, and start to look after a donor of stem cells for a bone marrow transplant. A process of months ahead. We’re definitely in need of mental and moral support and lots of prayers. We keep strong! We will make it!

Mika getting trombocyte transfusion | #MikaTheHero
While I was working today, Karin took Mika to the hospital for a trombocyte transfusion. The back has some petechiae and bruises, hopefully getting better now, beyond transfusion.

A Bonus Birthday | #HappyBirthday
Today Hedwig and Jippii came for a visit. Since we were at the hospital June 26, my mother-in-law couldn’t celebrate my birthday. Done today! Waffles with jam and cream, a good dinner and some presents (in pic). Thank you Hedwig!
New job | #work
Today I had an intro day, first day at my new job as a summer substitute support assistant at a group home for mentally disabled. Testing my work capacity over the Summer, plain and simple. It is in Åby outside Norrköping.

A day of changes | #Family
Today, we took a walk on town, and had a break at a hamburger restaurant. Mika was eating ketchup by straw! Then we got a call from the doctor since we wondered about why Mika gets many bruises. We were recommended to do a checkup at the hospital. We did so, and did some testing. Investigating further, and will share what is going on when we get definite results.
