The category of “rants, raves, reviews and responses” is coming from a need to directly aim “textual energy” in one direction or another. But “targeted” is the word.
It sprung from the need to write “an open letter” towards a person for the “pepping” in a positive manner, and also in another context to write in somewhat “negative terms” in third person. Thus “rants” and “raves”. But it’s not only persons, it could be brands, companies, products, services … whatever. In all means, it’s about more direct and hands-on conversation with and in relation to a “subject” of some kind.
